About SADMERC
The Statistical Analysis Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier (SADMERC) is a national entity that provides services under contract to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS).
SADMERC Responsibilities
SADMERC performs a number of functions, including determining appropriate Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes to use for durable medical equipment (DME) claims submission to Medicare. The HCPCS coding system must be used when preparing claims for submission to Medicare.
- Operates a HCPCS Coding Helpline to answer questions about and to provide appropriate codes upon request.
- Responds to written inquiries requesting HCPCS coding assistance
